I was very impressed with her honest answer. How about you?Do you think Miss California's answer to the gay marriage question cost her the pagent?
Im glad she said what she believes in. she stumbed a bit out of nervousness, but she still went with her gut feeling. I fully agree with her on that issue as well. Just because so many people in America are trying really hard to make gay marriage legal and acceptable doesnt mean people agree to it, and it sure as heck doesnt mean everyone should be jumping on the bandwagon. she shouldnt be scrutinized because of her personal opinion. Perez Hilton can suck it.Do you think Miss California's answer to the gay marriage question cost her the pagent?
I think she was better off being honest. In her beliefs, it isn't right. Who are we to say that she is a horrible person for having a different belief? She didn't say that gay marriage should be outlawed at all. She just said that she didn't condone it.
I don't know if it actaully cost her the crown, but I respect her for speaking her mind knowing that it may hurt her chances.
If there's a chance you might not like the answer, then you shouldn't be asking the question. And if you ask a controversial question, you can't hold it against someone for giving an unpopular answer.
I think the question and answer portions of these pageants is
really silly. Isn't it time to stop the pretense about the pageant being about something besides beauty? The women who start grooming for these prizes are not in it as an intellectual pursuit. They are in it because they look good. I find the whole thing pretty offensive to women and embarrassing to watch. (Maybe Miss California should get a job as a talking head on the 700 Club).
Although I don't agree with her answer, I was also impressed with her honesty.
I don't think it cost her the pageant, however. The winners are decided on many factors.
There was no way she could have escaped being booed no matter how she answered such a contentious question. Perez is the dummy for that.
