What is the appropriate dress length for a 2nd marriage wedding dress?

I am 50 years old and slim built and am marrying the man of my dreams. My second wedding and his third. We are not a flamboyant couple. Our tastes would be probably be described as simple and sophisticated. I have purchased a beautiful, simple, ivory, full length gown with a small train. The plan was to cut and hem to tea length. Friends say the dress is to beautiful to hem. What is an appropriate length for a second time bride? We are getting married on a cruise ship at 1:30 in the afternoon with 20 guests. What is the appropriate dress length for a 2nd marriage wedding dress?
any length you want......What is the appropriate dress length for a 2nd marriage wedding dress?
Any length is appropriate. Chose what would look best on you and make you feel the most beautiful.
Any length is fine. Most second-time brides will choose tea length or knee-length because they don't feel it's ';appropriate'; to have a full-length gown, but that's competely up to you. Now, a cathedral train would probably be a little out of line. But there's nothing wrong with a full dress, especially if it's a more formal, evening wedding.
it's your wedding- you can wear what you want to! if you like it the way it is then leave it. go with your preference. in this day and age, anything goes- especially when you're a bride!! :) congrats!!!!!!
any length you want.

In wedding ettiqute books the length is actually associated with the time of day, not the number of marriages. Tea-length is appropriate for afternoon and early evening. The only restrictions I'm aware of for 2nd+ weddings is that they not be as overblown affairs as the first wedding. But you're paying for it, do what you want.

Congrats and have a happy wedding day.
However you want it to be. I could see how you want to hem it b/c it's a casual wedding in the daytime, but really, if the dress is simple, that's casual enough!
It seems to me that with 5 marriages between the two of you, YOU should be the one giving advice ,not asking for it! What does the length of a dress have to do with anything relevant to your union?!
