Those against gay marriage rights: Why do you care what other people do?

Why do you find it your business to impose your will on others?

Should everyone be forced to follow your religion? Those against gay marriage rights: Why do you care what other people do?
Mob rule is never good. Years ago mob rule denied blacks their civil rights, today it's gays. Gay marriage hurts no one. It makes gay people feel included. That's good. Civil rights for all. Feel uncomfortable all you want but don't deny other humans the right to love others and live with them as married people.

Your church doesn't have to marry gay people, but don't impose your churches view on the entire country. Civil Rights for all. Those against gay marriage rights: Why do you care what other people do?
Look at all the people who claim 鈥淕ays threaten the sanctity of marriage鈥濃€︹€?.

Newt Gingrich

-married 3 times

-dumped his 1st wife while she was in the hospital

-cheated on his 2nd wife

-refused to attend his own sister鈥檚 wedding

Rudy Giuliani

-married 3 times

-his 1st wife was his own cousin

-his 2nd wife also married 3 times

-his 3rd wife also married 3 times

-he's a grown man who crossdresses

-his own daughter wouldn鈥檛 vote for him

Rush Limbaugh

-Divorced 3 times

-his 1st marriage only lasted 3 years

John McCain

-married twice

-dumped the woman who was the same age as him, who stood by him while he was in captivity for 5 years鈥?.dumped her for a younger, richer woman, who has 100 million dollars.

Fred Thompson

-married twice

-married a woman young enough to be his daughter
And you don't suppose that 4 judges negating the popular voice of 3,000,000 voters is imposing their will on others?

This has nothing to do with religion. Could it be that the majority of people want traditional marriage to stay that way?

If gays get to marry, then what will polygamists and pedophiles do? You don't think they want the same societal acceptance gays want?
If the government controls it will be just the opposite. They will force churches to marry gay couples.

Your rights end the moment they infringe on my rights.

I agree with you, thats it none of my business. I just dont want the Federal government to get involved in it. Its a state issue for local people and communities to decide, not Washington bureaucrats.
You just don't get how afraid they are.

They are afraid of their own feelings- they may be closeted or even mainly straight but had funny feelings about some one of the same sex and are totally freaked.

They are afraid their spouse may be gay. Their own sex life is so dead and they are afraid they might be happier with someone who understood them better.

They are afraid their children may be gay. What would people say about their parenting skills?

But hatred a bigotry are more to be afraid of than any of the boogie men.
I'm against gays making a federal issue out of it. It's a state issue, like all marriage is, and if a state doesn't want to allow it because the people have voted against it, then they just have to deal with it. There are plenty of people in this country who would probably prefer to be common law married, but the vast majority of states don't recognize those, either. We also don't allow polygamy and bestiality.

Marriage isn't a right, and these people need to get over themselves.
because marriage is a human creation meant to be between a man and woman to continue the cycle of life through gods wishes. lets put it like this, if people were meant to be gay, our civilization would have been gone long ago, for obvious reasons.

i'm not against civil unions where you recieve the same benefits as a married couple would. I do believe it is not a choice, but with that said it means i believe that being gay is a disorder. it's obvious that people aren't suppose to be gay, just in some cases they are, and i understand that.

i just dont want you to take something away from me that i share with my wife. gay marriage is changing the name therefore it is not the same thing.
There is another side to that coin.

Should a state have the right (by vote of its residents) to ban the practice? Now, once a same sex couple (legally married in another state) comes into the first state... they are forced (through the full faith and credit clause of the Constitution) to recognize that union... Thereby negating their right as a state to regulate it.

Now, Clinton passed DOMA which essentially erased that part of the Constitution, but erasing even small pieces of our VERY FOUNDATION simply can't be the answer.

It is not a moral question... It is a Constitutional one!
People have different beliefs, I could care less what gays do until I am forced to accept it. Same goes with everything else in the PC diversity driven world we live in.

Forcing people to accept your preferences divides the country, not one of my ancestors owned slaves so I have no guilt about slavery. I recognize its wrong, whites were subjected to slavery but I'm not going to torture myself with it.

I love the earth and want it kept clean but I'm not buying the global warming crap. It's amazing that we believe that we can predict whats going to happen 20 years from now but weather forecast are only reasonably accurate for 24 hours.

We are at war with an enemy that is not subject to the Geneva convention so they do not have the same rights as US citizens, they are Islamic Terrorists and we need to destroy them. It's the only thing they understand, you can't talk to them, they hate us and that's the way it is. So back off the military bashing and blaming it all on the US, the most generous, fair and free country in the world.

I don't hate immigrants. I welcome anyone that wants to become a citizen of the US as long as they do it in a legal manner. My grandmother was an immigrant who followed all the rules and became a citizen of the US. She still celebrated customs and used the language of her native country but learned how to read, write and speak english and did not suffer mental anguish doing so.

Long story short, stop making everything a drama and we would all get along better.
I don't care what you do in your private lives but when you make it public, when our lives will be affected by your selfish acts then I care about my children and myself. I don't like you gays kissing in front of the me on the TV, or anywhere especially in front of my kids. Gays are not normal beings, it is a sickness, just like being a murderer is a sickness that needs to be stop not tolerated or else they will destroy peoples lives.
Good question. But it has a little of incongruence... it seems like your don't care what other people do, so you shouldn't care if gays have marriaqge rights or not (unless you were gay, but in that case you can be with your partner (or partners), you don't need to marry as long as your were together and happy, don't you think?

Edit:

Healthy person, you seem vary interested in other people's marriages!
Well, In religions, We are told by God in all of our scared texts not to allow gays to marry, because god Made men and women to marry people of the opposite sex, but each other. But we are told to respect them as neighbors, for they are a person of god. So it each conflicts with eachother, Like specific Christans say it's ok.
People are against it because they are not used to it. They THINK God is against it, because its in the bible. But in my own opinion GOD DIDNT WRITE THE BIBLE And God loves all of his children correct? And does God not believe in love and wanting his children to be Happy?? I dont think God gives a flying toot about Gays and lesbians being how they are, he just wants us all to be happy.. Plus people are arrogant. Love conquers all and everyone deserves to be happy. soooo there.
God abiding people love to tell people what to do, but they never apply those rules on themselves.

Look at Ted Haggard. Respected of all ... hated gays and said it publicly ... in the end, he was gay, paying dudes to have sex with him.

Not only he didn't apply what he openly say, but his own church kicked him out for being gay. Another proof of intolerance.
You are simply brilliant for asking this question :]

I think the same way. If two people who love each other, devote themselves to one another, and order chinese on a Friday night just like the next couple; why can't they be married as well?

If they want to engage in all that the married life has to offer; such as joint this and that, why can't they?

It's horrible how close-minded some people are.
it all goes back to morals and ethics

no one wants to see two guys or girls makin out on the streets

i have gay friends so dont judge

but honestly our country is based a lot off the Bible and gay is considered wrong in there..but you are supposed to accept everyone..but not support them
i think the people that oppose it are afraid that gay marriage could influence their children, its not about the gay people to them, its about their children.
Because they are haters and some may have resolved sexual identity problems.like Senator Craig, among others.
Because they think it will influence their own sexual orientation because they are not secure in it.
Sure let gay people marry then go live In the same state together. And reproduce and see how that goes.
its not exactly about what they do its about protecting the moral fiber of society in whole.
My name is Scott White and I am for Man boy marriage after we get gay marriage ok'd.
why force your unnatural will on me.
It is against the Bible. Therefore,as a society, we are against it as well. It's not our law, it's God's.
